Dave Schooley

The mission of the Zoning Inspector is to oversee the effective, fair and safe enforcement of the Building and Zoning Code by issuing permits and providing inspection services in order to maintain the integrity and infrastructure of the home and businesses in the Village of Hicksville.

Dave Schooley, the Zoning Inspector, is designated by the Mayor to administer and enforce the Zoning Ordinance. He is authorized to take any action authorized by Ordinance 1153.02 to ensure compliance with or to prevent violations of this Ordinance. This may include the issuance of an action on zoning or certificate of occupancy permit, or any similar administrative duties as are permissible under the law.

Dave Schooley was appointed by the Mayor in 2007. Dave is a lifelong resident of Hicksville, married to wife Kathy, has 3 children and 7 grandchildren. He serves on the Hicksville Schools Board of Education, is a delegate to the Defiance Democratic Committee, and is currently the Vice President of the Ohio State Council of Machinists.
