Schedule of Fees

1. REPLACMENT OF METER AT REQUEST OF CUSTOMER:
The customer is encouraged to request their meter be tested if they insist the current meter is inaccurate. If testing is approved by the Water Superintendent, and the accuracy of the meter falls within the 97% to 103% range, the customer will continue using the tested meter, and will be billed a $50.00 test fee. If the tested meter is found to register above or below the testing parameters, it will be replaced free of charge. If the customer denies the testing procedure and insists on a new meter, he will be liable for the cost of the meter as well as the $50.00 test fee.

2. SHUT-OFF / RECONNECTION FEES: $10.00

3. TRIP CHARGES:
Trip charge during normal working hours (8:00AM-3:30PM).....$0.00
Trip charge after hours, weekends or holidays...........................$35.00

NOTE: No trip charge applies if the customer requests their water be shut off and reconnected during normal working hours if they are installing an interior shut off valve. If they request their water be turned off and do not install an interior shut-off valve, they will be charged a $35.00 service charge. If they request we turn off their water for repairs after hours, on a weekend or on a holiday for repairs, and do not install an interior shut-off valve, they will be charged a $35.00 trip charge as well as a $35.00 service call.

4. WINTER SERVICE CALL FOR A FROZEN METER:
If the Water Department is called out to investigate a frozen meter, and in fact it is not, the customer will be charged a $35.00 trip charge during normal working hours, and a $70.00 trip charge after hours, on weekends or on a holiday. The customer must make every attempt to investigate the problem in their water network before calling in the Water Department.

5. WATER TAP FEE:
There is a fee for installation of a water tap in any variation of ¾” or 1” taps. The fee includes all material, labor and machinery. Costs are subject to change and can be verified by contacting the Village Administrator at (419) 542-8095. The residential tap fee is $1,300.00, unless boring is required, which will make the fee $1,500.00. Anything installed over 1” is the responsibility of the contractor. The tap fee is $300.00 for this and we must inspect and approve the work being done.

6. SEWER TAP FEE:
The cost to install a sewer tap is $250.00, and must be paid before the work is started.

7. BONDS:
A resident is required to secure a bond before digging across a street, road or curb. The cost of the bonds will be $1000.00 for the road and $1000.00 for the curb. After completing the work of restoring the roadway and/or curb to its original condition, the bond is refunded. Refunds are incumbent upon inspection and approval by the Village Administrator.

8. OTHER FEES:
The cost to repair or replace a water meter damaged due to tampering, abuse, negligence, freezing or backflow is the responsibility of the customer. The actual cost varies according to the repair work necessary and whether replacement costs are involved. There may also be additional costs associated with penalties and/or fines for the damages as discussed in Ohio Law (O.R.C. 4933.19).

9. RETURNED CHECK FEE:
Any check returned to us will be assessed a $20.00 fee.

10. OTHER FEES:
